I am a Chartered Mediator and Arbitrator through the ADR Institute of Canada, have an LL.M. in ADR from Osgoode Hall Law School of York University and was one of the first Canadian mediators to be certified by the International Mediation Institute in the Netherlands, an organization focused on the development of international standards for commercial mediators.

 

In addition to extensive experience, I bring the following attributes to dispute resolution:
  • A focus on the practical resolution of disputes from the client’s perspective.
  • An understanding that participants need results for their time and effort spent in mediation.
  • An even handed approach in helping make the participants feel comfortable with the process and outcome.
  • An ability to work effectively with counsel to help them resolve the dispute for their clients.

I am a Director of the ADR Institute of Ontario, co-editor of its newsletter and a  member of other professional groups including the Dispute Resolution Section of the Ontario Bar Association, the Section of Dispute Resolution of the American Bar Association, the Canadian Condominium Institute and the Association of Condominium Managers of Ontario.

I write extensively on ADR topics and am a regular presenter and participant in professional development and continuing education programs. I am a co-author of the Mediation & Arbitration materials used by the Canadian Condominium Institute in its Condo 300 course, and the author of ADR in Canadian Condominiums to be published by Canada Law Book.
